Hats, Hats, and More Hats Along

Alright, starting my hat postings for 2026. These are all the same pattern:

Not the best pattern. It has some errors and the instructions are challenging to follow. After a bit of trial and error, I was able to work out what is supposed to occur to achieve the desired look.

I ran out of the red on this one.

I made another hat using the same pattern from above, just in a different color.

I kept messing up the stitch count in one section, but I finally got it sorted out. I’m definitely going to make a few more of these, but I have another pattern that I want to try first.

I just got a pattern for cactus mittens and this hat would match perfectly! I love how the pompom is the cactus flower.

I was thinking of making mittens and a hat for my little great niece. I think spiky mittens would be so cute!

I think so too. I was at the car dealership last week getting our first checkup for our new vehicle. A woman sitting across from me was also knitting while waiting for her car to be ready. She said she could see the all the bobbles from across the way.

I made two more hats but looks like I won’t be able to wear them until next year unless it gets cold again:

I had some random bulky yarn so I made this hat just using a standard hat pattern and adding in some color. I call it my Confetti Hat.

I was looking for a pattern that would cover more of my head, sort of like a scarf and came across a pattern called the Clamshell..

I struggled with the pattern because it called for increases and then decreases to make the shape all in one piece. I didn’t like how different each side looked, so instead, I made two halves and then joined them with the three needle bind off.

It can also be folded and worn like a scarf so it is versatile. With a big pair of sunglasses, I think I will look quite glamorous (or in reality, like someone’s grandma! ha ha).

Rav says it’s no longer available, so if someone wants it, I can scan my hard copy and email you.

Great pattern for an easy knit and also, texture when the yarn is plainer. Nice job!
