Haunted Library Halloween Card

This card gave me a chance to use a couple of die sets I’d gotten in the last several month, but not put to use. The nature of the shape of the books dictated to me that I use a slimline card base - that I cut even slimmer, and uneven. The card is meant to be opened fully for display.

I forgot to get a pic of the interior in daylight! Why this matters is that you could see how the inking I did made the sentiment almost invisible…

until darkness!

The candle flame glows, too. I used GITD embossing power for both.

This is sooooo cute! I want desperately to use dies and the cutting machine thing I got at the thrift store! But it didn’t come with the pressing block things to go through??? I gotta order some.

This certainly inspires me!

Thanks, y’all!

@RagingSloth If it’s a Sizzix, which the only brand I’m very familiar with, you’ll need a “platform” and “pads.” They feel expensive, but if used correctly last ages. I have the original platform mine came with years ago. The pads do “use up” but you can get 1000s of cuts and embosses with them if you treat them well. I would suggest looking for sales at scrapbook.com and other online sellers, even Ebay. You need different thickness of the plate for different types of dies and embossing folders, so look into that when selecting.

Woohoo, I’m the lucky recipient of this wildly fabulous card! Luckier still to have a large and growing collection of handmade cards from this talented maker, they even have their own box.
