I had the courage to submit more projects to the fair this year, and although my handbound notebook didn’t impress the judges, some of my photography did I won third prize in two categories.
Here are the winning photos:
8x10 Open category, “a theme of your choice.”
Two 4x6 photos on the theme “Kingston Attractions”
The bottom photo is of historic City Hall.
And here are the photos I submitted that didn’t win anything. The nice thing is that for the photography category, they display all photos, even the ones that don’t win. So everyone who comes by the display gets to see your photographs. To me, it’s about sharing the art; winning is exciting but it’s not why I submitted. Before I found this site, I would likely not have had the courage to share as much as I did here in town. So thank you all for your kindness and support
Here are the other photos I submitted:
Two 4x6 on the theme "Flowers in Bloom
Two 4x6 taken on cell phone, any theme of your choice. (I feel the need to say here that all of my photos were taken on a cell phone, so… I just entered this in this category because I had already done the sunflowers for “flowers in bloom.”
Two 4 x 6 "open category, a theme of your choice:
Two 4x6 photos on the theme of “weather”
I also submitted an 8x10 on the theme “cutest baby or child,” but as my daughter is in the photo, I won’t share it here
Note: I took all photos with my cell phone, a Samsung S32. It has an excellent camera. All photos are unedited, with the exception of very minimal cropping on the bottom of the monster truck photo.
