Rogue Florals
First up is a card for Deanna’s “florals” theme. This one was inspired by a class from Sketchbook Revival 2026 by artist Bindi Desai that @AIMR also watched. Linda’s lovely paintings are clearly inspired by that class. My results on the other hand don’t look like the class at all. Even when I follow instructions, it looks like I don’t. The card is mixed media though, watercolor with ink, colored pencil, and art crayon added in and I absolutely love the end result.
Moonlight Dancer
Card number two is a nod to Deanna’s Whimsy theme. I love those paintings that are kind of dark and moody with a silhouette against a full moon. And I really like the idea of a graceful ballerina set against that backdrop with the purples and yellows offsetting each other.
My Bunny Blue
Card number three was inspired by Deanna’s Victorian theme and her username…and my weird brain. At the time a Victorian bunny made total sense.
Zero progress pics for this one. It’s acrylic gouache. The background WAS a gorgeous granulating watercolor but then there wasn’t enough contrast with Madame Bunny’s outfit and gouache happened and it is what it is. Also, I was so into painting I didn’t look up until 2 am and got zero pics.

I definitely could see your personal take from that class! I recognized the technique, but the outcome is your style. Well done!
Your lucky partner got such a nice variety showing your different skills but still your style. The ballerina shadowed against that background is lovely. And, per usual, your animal faces are so expressive.
This is a lovely set. I love all three.
I could tell right away that the floral one was based on Bindi Desai’s class. I like the colors you chose for it.
@Tanath - thank you. The floral is my favorite of the the three. I still struggle with finding color combos I like, but that one worked out well.
@TheMistressT - I spent the longest on those two and got lost in both. Hours pass and I don’t notice. In the end though, I think the greater contrast and color variance make the floral stronger.
