I love going to the theater! My cousin and i go all the time. Actually, i am headed there in about an hour to see the 3rd Ant-Man movie, but the last one I saw was M3gan a couple weeks ago. It was campy fun. Also, we go to this new theater that serves delicious food and has super comfy recliners.
We went to see Super Pets!! I only eat popcorn at the movies, lol. I don’t love it, but when you put it in front of me in a dark room it just disappears…
We are anxiously awaiting the release of the new Super Mario Bros movie in April! That will probably be the next one we see in the theater.
We rewatched the first one a few years ago, it was even worse than I remembered I didn’t know they were coming out with a new one, will have to check it out!
LOL…oh man that one is a classic.
The new one is animated. Chris Pratt has gotten some flack for Mario’s accent, but I love him anyway. I hope it’s great.
Oh - ETA - we did watch some of the old animated “Super Mario World” cartoons on Netflix a while ago. It was the era of cartoons interspersed with live action scenes from the 80s. It didn’t really hold up, but the nostalgia was strong.
The last first-run movie I saw in the theater was either The Post or Holmes and Watson, whichever came out later. I did see White Christmas at a cool old historic theater in December.
Last time I went to the movies was in the Before Times. It was probably a marvel movie
I like movie theater popcorn but it usually gives me a headache
The last movie i saw was with my hubby and it was “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. Great movie and the first movie we had seen together in a theatre. And haven’t been back to one since. We usually now just buy the movies we want to see and watch them at home.
It’s not an Alamo Drafthouse is it? I know other movie theaters are doing similar things, too. I’ll have to see if there’s anything my son would like to see. They often bring out stuff for kids to see on Saturday mornings. We went to a cereal party there once and it was great fun, but I doubt they are doing it the same way.
It’s a Cinema Cafe. We usually go around noon so we can grab lunch. The food is great and it’s not overpriced. Also, on Wednesdays they have $3.50 tickets. Sometimes we will meet after work.
the last movie i saw in theatre was last summer: topgun. only because the husbeast was DYING to see it and we hadnt been to the movies since BEFORE. (i do not enjoy going to the movies all that much to begin with) but the a/c in the truck wasnt working all that well and it was so flipping hot so i went in…mostly for the air and popcorn…the popcorn was cold and disappointing. ah well.
The last movie I watched in the theater was the Bob’s Burgers movie with my teenage son. He laughed and laughed, so how could I not enjoy it?
I don’t even remember the last movie I went to see in a theater! I’m much more of a tv show gal.
That’s awesome! @JoyfulClover and I met up to watch that in the theater! I am a huge Bob’s Burgers fan!
It’s about time for another check in question - send outs are coming up in a little over a week!
Fourth check in question
What’s a favourite old crafted item in your home? Share a picture or story of something handmade that you have - it could be something from a family member, something you made as a kid, something you found in a fleamarket, anything you like!
I’m away in Perth for a couple more days, so I’ll share my picture and story when I get home soon.
Also, how is everyone getting on with their swap packages? Is everyone feeling on target? Please just keep in touch with your partner and with me if you are encountering any holdups. I hope you’re all having lots of happy creative time!
Ooo…tough question! I’d have to say the faux deer that Mr. Road and I made several years ago. His ears have gotten floppy but he still lords over our living room:
Swap-wise, I’m pretty done, just making sure no final touches are required. I’ll probably send early next week!
Ooh, that’s beautiful. Did you use a pattern?
We didn’t. Mr. Road shaped and welded the metal frame + antlers and I hand-stitched the fabric to the frame to cover it. It’s a miracle it came together, really. I don’t know that we could successfully repeat the feat!
I guess mine is the apron I made in 6th grade home ec. It’s still going strong [mumble-mumble] years later, even though at the time I got over-enthusiastic and partially sewed the pocket shut .
My package is in transit! Assuming the PO hasn’t eaten it…
So many things! But I’ll have to go with this hanging piece (some kind of embroidery???)
I hung it up in my bedroom when I was in high school and it’s been displayed everywhere I’ve lived since then. I believe it was made by one of my great aunts. Probably made in the sixties based on the style?
I’m in progress with my crafting and should be done in time I have most of it all planned out, just need to assemble and fine tune
favourite crafted item i made would have to be the mirror i made in gr. 9 woodworking. other than that, probably the last pair of mittens my gran knit me…horrible acrylic yarn, but they’re green and she made them. for me. i almost cried when i thought i had lost one of them a few years ago, but it turned up and i’m back to wearing them.
doing alright with my items for @MightyMitochondria …sitting here now just sewing some pieces together that have been finished for a few weeks, but waiting on me to get it together enough to attach them.
hope to get it in the mail by wednesday!!
