Jalapeno Salt

I made some jars of jalapeno salt for gifts. I know a problem with a lot of flavored salts is that one is often not using enough salt to get the additional flavor (because SALT is still SALT!). I tried to do a higher ratio of jalapeno to salt, so that some of the spice would still come through.

It was an easy project, too, which is always nice! I used my food processor to grind 6 oz of dried peppers, and mixed it with 32 oz of coarse kosher salt. I think I could have probably done an even higher ratio of jalapenos to salt, but that was what I had, and a little pinch still had some kick.

I packaged it in 4 oz jars, and topped them off with custom handmade labels.

Thanks for taking a look! Happy holidays!

What a fun and novel gift! It’ll be something you know they’re not getting from someone else.

This would be great on/in so many things. I can only imagine how good it would be on some soft pretzels!!!
