July 2026 Daybook cover page

My planner finished at the end of June, and instead of purchasing another planner, I decided to use a daybook I create myself this time around. I’ve done this in the past, but then it got too busy to do it again. Now that my son will be going to high school in September and I’ll have a semi-sabbatical of sorts, I have a little more time on my hands. I also wanted to do something that “forces” me to create things for the sake of creating things for a change. So here’s my July cover page for my new daybook/agenda/journal/whatever-else-I-want-it-to-be book.

I got the book at the “dollar store” (it was $5), specifically because I like this size. Unfortunately the pages aren’t as thick as I’d like, so permanent markers show through. So all markers I used were just colouring ones, and I tried to use a fairly light hand when I could.

I used the July item from the Arts & Crafts Club taking place at Nerd Campto make the circles. I then coloured in the circles in a somewhat random fashion.

Next, I used a small ink pad and pressed it directly on the paper to make the squares.

While that was drying, I used letters and 1 word from my cut & paste stash to create the “Sunshine and Summertime” part.

Finally, once the ink from the rubber stamp was dry, I used metallic markers to write July 2026. Initially I used a gold marker, but against the colours, it looked very dull. So I used a silver one over top, and then outlined the letters with a black ballpoint pen.

Thanks for looking!
