I ended up altering the oddknit pattern a bit. I do the outside with decreases instead of increases, do the two edge rings as one ring with two colors, then do the inside in one go with a dk yarn held together with embroidery thread with the beads strung on it.
The purple one has 6/0 seed beads, the blue is 6mm faceted rounds, the silver is 4mm bicones. They’re pretty addictive and I’ll have to do more. Not sure what to do with them all, so some may end up in STS this fall.
I absolutely love these! Since I can’t knit, I looked for a crochet version, and I found one. These will be fun to make during crochet club at school and display on my desk in my science classroom!
