Knitted floor mat

I got this really cool jersey fabric yarn on a recent local yarn crawl (unofficially, but it did happen to be the day of a real craw, lol). It’s from Wool and the Gang, called Jersey Be Good. I thought it would make a great little rug for the front door, but of course I cast on with out making a gauge square, so it came out a bit small. Despite being kind of a heavy project, once I got going it knit up pretty quickly. The yarn is stretchy too, so I had to watch my tension, otherwise it would tighten up a lot on the needles.
I now use it as a little kitchen mat.

I have lots of small little rugs all over…I really hate hard wood floors on my feet…plus my old dog can’t get up if he doesn’t have any traction!

Love the color and the nubby stitch pattern…is the yarn washable and will it shrink?

Thanks @AIMR, you know that’s a great question, it does say hand wash and dry flat, something I probably should have looked into before buying :smile_cat: I don’t know if it will shrink, it’s mostly cotton, with 2% elastane.
