Signups May 26-June 26, Sendouts: September 30

Sometimes you want to dig into a good sized project for a partner, so here’s a swap designed for that. This will likely be a round robin rather than partners to match up crafts and wishes. For example, person A sends to person B, person B sends to person C, person C sends to person A. This will hopefully allow for the closest matches between what people are willing to make and would like to receive.
Nice looong craft time so you can work it around your life, though you could send early if that’s better for your schedule.

This swap is for one Extra Large item inspired by your partner’s questionnaire.

Swap name: Labor of Love
Lettuce Craft member who is organizing this swap: saintcady
Sign-up date range: 5/26/25 - 6/26/25
Send out Date: 9/30/25
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? No (though we’ll have to adjust based on where participants are willing to ship)
Additional Age requirement? No

Please make sure to check out the Swap Rules (updated 06.03.2024) to see if you can join the swap. Organizer will double check.

Please fill out and send the questionnaire below via private message to @saintcady with the title “Labor of Love Swap QUESTIONNAIRE”

Starting an idea list of things that might be extra large. Not all of these are my craft, so I’m guessing a bit. And clearly there can be variation. I’ve knit a basic sweater that I’d consider an XL, and I’ve done fancier ones that would be an XXXXXXL. You know how it goes. But having a nice long list might make it easier for people to fill out their questionnaires, so let’s idea dump! (I’m adding in new things as people fill out their questionaries)

  1. Purse
  2. Shawl
  3. Blanket
  4. Lap quilt
  5. Woven towel
  6. Knit socks
  7. Quilted pillow cover set

I like the long craft time on this one. I’ll have to noodle a bit on what extra larges I can make and which I’d want to add to my list, before committing.

This is really tempting. My biggest issue is that my due date for new baby’s arrival is 9/15. :face_with_spiral_eyes: I’d think it would be better to sit this one out…but maybe…I’m waffling

I know I’m going to be busy late September, but with a really long crafting time I expect I’ll just send early. But I totally get it!

I just started my first swap on here, so I don’t think I can do this one until after that :frowning:

This is tempting.
I’ll have to think about what I would want and what I could make.

Maybe people could list ideas of what they would want - could give people on the fence ideas like - yeah I could make that!

Like I could definitely use a messenger bag with lots of pockets and an extra long strap.

I would love to make a homemade junk journal with lots of homemade papers and homemade ephemera and hand bound. Although I can do other things since that’s probably a niche item.

Also - moderator note -
Remember that an extra-large is 5+ hours. so like a set of pillowcases would probably only take 30-60 minutes to make but if it was intricately embroidered that would most likely kick it up to an extra large.

Yep, wish lists are great. That’s part of why I left a really long sign up time. Here are some of my wish ideas so far:
Weighted lap blanket
Table top ironing pan
Homemade journal (for gratitude recording)
Stained glass
Free standing car tote/organizer
Woven anything
Unpaper towel roll
Duffel bag picnic blanket
