The holiday season is upon us! And for crafters there is no busier time of year. In addition to the party planning, cookie baking, and gift wrapping that regular folk do, we crafters go above and beyond creating handmade holiday treasures. So why not celebrate that extra special crafting, with an extra special Holiday Crafting Challenge?!?!

We will be holding 6 Holiday-themed Board Challenges, on each of our 6 Boards (Art, Home & Garden, Fashion & Wearables, Fiber & Textile, Food & Drink, Paper & Vinyl). Members may submit as many holiday-themed crafts to each board challenge as they wish. At the close of the Challenges, voting will commence on each Board. Individual winners will receive a handmade LC gift, from @MistressJennie.

But the fun doesnโ€™t end there! Those 6 winners will then go head to head, with a final vote to determine our favorite holiday crafted item of 2025. That winner will receive a $20 gift card to their choice of online craft vendor, such as Michaelโ€™s, Knit Picks, Fat Quarter Shop, Dick Blick, or Amazon.

YOUR MISSION - CRAFT SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

The Rules:

  • Your project may be in any craft medium, which is represented or welcomed here on Lettuce Craft.
    • Projects must be winter/holiday themed. A painting of a snowflake or of a Christmas tree counts. A painting of a goldfish would not.
  • Every holiday that falls between December 1st and January 1st is welcome in this challenge! Please share your Hanukkah, Solstice, Yule, and Kwanzaa creations!
  • All entries must be posted on their appropriate Boards by midnight on January 2nd, 2026.

Additional Details:

  • Submit your entry by creating a project post on the appropriate Board, in the Completed Projects section.
  • You are REQUIRED to have a descriptive title and then include โ€œ- Holiday Spectacular Entry 2025โ€ (example: Jennieโ€™s Holly Wreath - Holiday Spectacular Entry 2025).
  • Once you have posted your submission, you need to reply to the Challenge Tread ON THAT BOARD, with a link to your post. If you do not do this, your entry will not be considered. Posting them HERE will not count.
  • Since folks start crafting for the holidays early, and might have already completed a few projects: Any projects fitting the challenge that have already been posted between November 1 and November 30, 2025, may be entered into the Challenge. Simply edit your project post title, to reflect it as an entry, then post a link on the appropriate board Challenge thread.*
  • *For Example: On November 30th, 2025, @MissingWillow posted her lovely Miniature Buffet and a Recipe for Peppermint Bark on the Art Board. If she wanted to enter it into the Challenge, she would simply change the title of her post to โ€œMiniature Buffet and a Recipe for Peppermint Bark - Holiday Spectacular 2025โ€, then post a link here in the Art Board Challenge thread. Easy Peasy.
  • Voting for board challenges will happen January 3rd-10th, 2026.
  • The winners will be announced on January 11th, 2026.
  • On January 11th, another poll will be posted in THIS THREAD, with the 6 winning projects. Members will be allowed to vote for their favorite from January 11th-17th.
  • The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on January 18th, 2026
  • If cheating of any sort is discovered, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.

If you have any questions, or want to chat about your crafting progress for this challenge, post it here! Letโ€™s have fun!

I want to win specifically so I can get that handcrafted LC gift!! Now I just need to come up with plans on what to make and then create the time to make those plans happen! :crossed_fingers:

I agree with the @TheMistressT. Youโ€™ve done an excellent job of creating a fun challenge and providing a great incentive. Thank you, @MistressJennie!

Thank you. I really enjoyed creating those LC ornaments! I donโ€™t know that Iโ€™ll make anything as good as them anytime soon, but you did remind me of some similar ornaments that I made and have been meaning to post. So just to be sure - I can enter them into the challenge, even though I made them a few months ago?

And, just to make sure I understand correctly, we can submit multiple entries to the same board?

Yes, you may submit multiple entries on the same board. I figure at the holidays we all might fall back on our most commonly done mediums, to make many different gifts, so I didnโ€™t want to limit folks to choosing just one example to share.

And yes, if you havenโ€™t already posted the ornaments you made, you may enter them, even if you made them a few months ago. They would count as a new project, since we havenโ€™t seen them before. Meanwhile, if someone had already posted a project in the last month (November 1-30), they can enter it by changing the title and posting the link. That allowance it to help folks who actually planned ahead and crafted early.
