Lettuce Craft Stitchalong 2023

This doesn’t fit the theme, but I am working on something that does…

I stitched this up for a friend who is having a baby in November. I see her in October so I thought I better get it done. She has never seen Star Wars (gasp!), but her husband is a fanatic fan! I thought I would make it for her to give to him. I have another one I am working on as well. The pattern is free on the Wild Olive site.

Of course it fits the theme; it’s a growing child!

So cute!! Aaaah!!

She is doing a whole series…it is hard to just pick a few…I love the one I am working on now!

Oh that is a handy site to know about!!

She has an Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas felt ornament!

@MistressJennie sent me a few things leftover from the LC meet up that I was unable to attend.

One of them was the craft take along of the LC Bear. Since it represented a lot of the things I love to craft, I decided to embellish it with a few of them! The glasses are seed beads; the nose and eyes are felt; the mustache and circle are embroidery; the scarf is knitted.

I’m going to paint the hoop later today, but I was excited to show it off. Can’t wait to hang it in my crafting room!

I had big plans for a stitch this month but time just got away from me. I still have a couple days but they are busy, busy so I’m not hopeful I’ll make it in time.

Oct 1 marks our next quarterly drawing! This quarter’s prize has been donated by the wonderful @MistressJennie!! Check it out!

Prize includes LC fabric featuring the Fiber & Textiles Bear, since that’s where embroidery falls on the site, the LC logo, two hoops, and embroidery thread to match!

That’s a great prize!

I’ve been working on something, I hope to complete it in time. It seems time is flying by atm.

I agree that it is a fun and great prize! Since I was already gifted the bear, please drop me from the drawing. I want others to enjoy stitching the prize as much as I did!

This may continue growing, I’m not sure. It will ultimately be a quilt block.
I machine appliqued the white eyelet to the green cotton before embroidery.

:sewing_needle: :thread: :sewing_needle: :thread: Announcement Time :sewing_needle: :thread: :sewing_needle: :thread:

It’s October!! How did that happen? I had a discussion with the receptionist at my daughter’s doctor’s office the other day and she convinced me that September just didn’t happen. It disappeared into a worm hole somewhere.

Anyway…it’s time for both our monthly AND quarterly drawing!! I admit that this time I am just making an executive decision rather than doing a random drawing. We have a dedicated group of 3 stitchers who are consistently in the pool for our drawings each month/quarter: @AIMR, @jemimah, and @steiconi (you guys rock!!). Honorable mention goes to @Immaculata and @skrutt who keep us updated on their stitching adventures. Since two of these members have already won a quarterly challenge this year (and AIMR graciously removed herself from the drawing), I’ve decided @steiconi is our winner of BOTH THE MONTLY AND QUARTERLY prizes! Woohoo!! Congratulations!! You win the super cool kit from @MistressJennie AND you get to choose our theme for October!

Very much deserved @steiconi, someone who not only manages to stitch up something every single month, but always surprises us with real works of art and creative interpretations of the theme.
