Since I joined the Prairie Schooler Swap, it seems I can’t stop cross stitching! Practice makes perfect, so I am also testing out some patterns for myself as I stitch for the swap. This piece fits the monthly theme!

I didn’t even see the star as wonky until you pointed it out.

Part of me wanted to make it more symmetrical, but, I am really just trying to stick to the patterns…that design company is meant to look more “primitive” and simple…very little back stitching in almost all of their patterns as well…not my favorite look, but I feel relaxed and enjoy doing them!
How is it September already?! In August, we had three stitchers for our “Night Sky” theme: jemimah, AIMR, and steiconi. In rotating our winners from this small pool of dedicated regulars, our winner for August is… @jemimah!! Congrats! You get to select our theme for September!
Don’t forget, we have our next quarterly drawing at the end of September! I’ll have more details on our prize later!
Congratulations @jemimah !! I tried to stich something for this month, a smaller version of what @AIMR stitched (we are clearly still in Prairie Schooler mode!) but I only made it about a quarter through. And when I say smaller version, I really mean smaller version, I wanted to use it to cover a button. And I still didn’t manage to finish it in time

Did you guys see how @jemimah used her little cactus stitching to make me a mug rug for the Grab Bag swap? I love ideas on how to use our beautiful stitching to make functional things!
Don’t look to close at my Godzilla stitch. My stitch directions are all over the place!

Good to know I am in good company…and since those are for me, I am not concerned over them…I really paid attention on my swap items, though, and pulled out a ton of stitches…learning with each one…but, I still “forget”…
Yes! And I am finally crafting again because I have a use for the pieces! I need about 100 quilt blocks, have five so far. Yay, big projects!
Plus now there are empty spots on the walls where new crafts can go. Win win win!
You celestial pieces are really cute @AIMR, the dark fabric makes them stand out so well! The stitch direction thing gets me too, but I’m certain no one notices in finished pieces (except for the embroidery police, but we don’t care about them).
@steiconi those quilt blocks are gorgeous! That will make such a wonderful, tactile piece, what a fantastic way to use your embroidery. And it’s so great that you’re inspired to craft again!
I’m always looking for ideas to use embroidered pieces too, I still have a quite a big pile, but I keep chipping away at it.
