I didn’t end up stitching something for this month’s theme, but I still stitched! I decided it would be wiser to work on an existing project that I’ve shown in this thread: the CrossStitcher SAL with all those nice English houses. I managed to finish the Devon cottage this weekend, I’ll have about a week to finish the next one and if I manage that, I’m no longer behind! The new issues comes out at July 11. So far, I’m really much more on schedule than I thought I would be.
I had a few more of these stitch panels from Spoonflower…one of them fit the theme! These are quick and fun to do while watching TV (The Witcher). I did simple embellishments using embroidery thread and my new fabric markers.
Here it is hanging in the library/guest room with the others I have done.
Love it!! The little string on the tea bag and the titles on the books are my fave details!

August’s theme …hmm…how about cacti!
As for my summer plans, I’ve a trip to TN to visit family in a couple of weeks and it’s time to start getting my Youngest ready for her Sr year. Clothes shopping with her is a process.
I’m loving those cat hoops, @AIMR !!! They’re from Spoonflower? I’ve never seen them before.
Fun theme!!! ![]()
I actually spent an hour stitching. It looked awful!
If you do a search on Spoonflower for " 6" embroidery", the designs come up. They are $5 each (swatch size). I upgrade to the linen cotton. You can embellish them as much as you want/don’t want. Some of them are pretty funny!
They are having a sitewide sale of them for $4.25 through July 6th! They make fun gifts for babies and the holidays and for sweary friends! ha ha
It’s really cute, and those cat hoops make a wonderful set!
Great theme! I’m sure I have a cacti pattern lined up somewhere already. Oh, and I saw in my emails, DMC have a bunch of free cacti patterns - DMC
I have started a challenge for myself. And at the same time its a mindfulness-thingy. A circle a day. I have picked three colors to use, and I have to do one circle per day during july. No more. And when Im doing the circle I will try to be mindful too, and just you know, slow breath, concentrate on circle.
Im on day 5 now, and wanted to share.
It looks like it would be a very calming stitching! Also, creative…31 circles?
I love this!!
Yes, 31 circles. I will try to make no one the same, similar but not exactly the same. ![]()
What a wonderful idea! These are going to be beautiful.
Cool! I have a picture of a gorgeous cactus bloom from a couple of months ago. It should make a great stitch!
I just saw this on etsy and chuckled and thought of you guys:
Lololol. I’ve been enjoying the “don’t be a prick” versions, too. ![]()
