I have to make so many changes to a regular pattern that it’s usually easier to just draft my own. But I wanted to try this pattern so I decided to take on the challenge
White does nothing for me so I made the collar from the main fabric. And a little belt at the back would not do me any favors at this stage so I skipped it.
I thought about making the wrap dress, too, but the shift dress is a better style for me, I think. They are both cute and how wonderfully generous of the V&A to provide the patterns!
Yeah, my issue is I have no waist definition and sometimes dresses with pleats or gathers just aren’t that flattering on me. But sometimes they are…hah, I’m sure it’s all about where it falls on my waist. I haven’t figured it out yet.
