Shift Dress with Funnel Neck

I was going to try my hand at the free Mary Quant dress, but ended up trying a different pattern because I wanted to change up a few things. Go check out @stirlingarts Mary Quant style dress if you wanna see that pattern in action. She did a lovely job.

Anyhow, I’m terrible at making a toile, and there was no room for error with my fabric. Rather than try to make the adjustments on my own I just bought one with the adjustments I wanted.

Anyhow, I used the Maven French Dart pattern. It was a fairly quick sew. I suppose I decided to really lean into the 60s because I made it incredibly short. Thankfully the hem has about 2 inches so I could let it down a smidge. And yes, I teased the heck out of my hair for these photos.

This turned out so cute! The print is such a great scale for this and I love that neckline.
