Metallic underwater sceneries

A while ago I bought a set of metallic watercolors. And the most recent 4x6 swap was the perfect occasion to try them out.

For the first one I loosely followed this tutorial

@gozer posted some better pics in the swap gallery.

After that I was hooked with underwater ocean scenes and was looking for more inspiration on Pinterest. I found this tutorial and added some shimmery details to it.

Here are the pics that @Tapestry posted after receiving.

I’m definitely going to use metallic details in more of my paintings.

And I can’t wait to join the next 4x6 swap, too. It’s such a fun swap. And everything that was created was amazing.

Your pics show the true color better. It’s so amazing in person. It has this softness to it. Gorgeous!
I love the face on the stingray. It looks so happy!

I’m glad you made a separate post for these :purple_heart:

I love them both, but the manta ray might be my favorite. I generally love jellyfish art, but that manta ray with the rays of light shining through the water just speaks to me! Great job!

I love them both, but am biased and extra in love with the manta ray piece you sent me. It’s sooooo gorgeous! I’m so glad it found a home with me. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous artwork!

I think both of these are absolutely fantastic. I love the underwater effects you created!!

Also, my brain keeps changing your title to Metallic Underwear Scenarios for some reason.

@gozer, @Tapestry, @Manders thank you. Both of them were really fun to paint.
@MamaRhi  now my brain desperately tries to make up a craft idea that fits that title.

Lol… In my younger and even weirder days, I had some pretty good fabric for this project… And I probably would have worn the resulting crafted item in public willingly.

@MamaRhi my brain initially went the “underwear” route also!

I’m so glad I was wrong because these pieces are both just stunning!!
