Meteor Shower Handspun Yarn

I picked up this lovely hand-painted BFL roving from Greenwood Fiberworks in ‘Meteor Shower’ colorway. It’s luscious shades of purple and really soft.

I spun and plied it on my Ashford e-spinner 3. It’s 2-ply, Z-twist, approximately 10 wpi. Wound up with just over 200 yards out of 121g.

This is gorgeous! If it were me, I’d never use it because it’s too pretty just spun like that! Do you have plans for a project with it?

Honestly? No. :joy:. It’s a good quantity for a hat, though.

I bought it because I liked the colorway, BFL is easy to spin (and soft), and I need some practice on my new wheel. I’m trying to get more consistent and trying to spin lighter weight yarns. Spinning lace is easy for me on a drop spindle or my tiny wheel, but this big one pulls the yarn a lot harder, even with almost no tension, and it’s taking me some time to adjust.

meteor shower is a great name! It’s lovely!
