Monster Tealight Holder & Creepy Tray - Halloween Spooktacular Entry 2025

I originally made this tealight holder for STS, but my Uncle saw it and wanted it for his desk at work.
I made it from a used, sturdy paper tube from our office plotter. I cut the opening for the mouth, covered it in teeth and clay, and voila! Monster! The light is battery-operated, so no fire risk.
I thought it was a lot of fun to make. I laughed a lot. Especially with the teeth.

Then I made another fabric tray for Halloween. It’s only approx. 5x5, but it is great for holding little trinkets or thread, or to just get you in the Halloween mood!

It has great personality especially for one with a humble office tube beginning lol. From what are the teeth made? They look real?

Acrylic I think. I got them off of Amazon. I couldn’t stop laughing about them.

Fun Fact: I used to make teeth in a dental office when I was younger as a job.

That big-mouth is hilarious! Funny and fun, a silly kind of spooky. And the tray is quite pretty.

Oh my goodness that is FANTASTIC! We all would have been rushing your shop for that toothy grin!! Lucky uncle!

That trinket tray is also really cool, although I might be tempted to turn it into a wall hanging,

Totally reminds me of Fugglers. My son hates that they have teeth. It’s my favorite attribute about those stuffies.
I want to know the story behind those characters in the tray. It’s probably a spoof on a classic, like the Jane Austen ones.

Disclaimer: I am very tired and haven’t had breakfast yet. I saw the preview and my brain genuinely thought it was a cute gingham covered jam jar with a tea light in it; I don’t quite know where my brain got that from.

the post loaded, and I saw that it was far more delightful  I love its little eyes, they go so well with the general “Aaaaaaargh” of the mouth :heart_eyes:

I got a yard of the weirdest fabric with squares of random Halloween-type creepy families. I had no idea what to do with it until I saw a pattern for these trays.
