I have now finished 8 shoe bags, seven for my week’s clothes, and one to put any extra stuff in, like scarf, panta and gloves for days when I’m in the office.
I love how jolly they all are, and that they help me be more organised.
And then I made fabric tags to hang on the corresponding day’s clothes in the wardrobe. I was trying to take a photo, but my cat decided he was more important
I wrote up my pattern for the shoe bags if anyone is interested, just let me know. It is very detailed, and I think it is correct, but there might be sneaky errors or issues.
I love them & would be so happy to test your pattern and instructions, how generous of you!
This project reminds me of my mom who ascribes a colour to each day, 2 actually, minor & major. She likes to dress accordingly and has an enormous wardrobe to choose from. Fun!

They would brighten up anyone’s day! You have found a way that works for you and a solution that you could fix with your sewing skills!
Thank you for your lovely words. Magpie, when I get a mo I’ll pdf the pattern and link to it, and if you want, you could DM me an email address which can log in to OneDrive, and I can share an editable file if that would help.
The pattern is written for me, and I like lots of clear Steps so it might annoy everyone else!
I love the idea of having colours to dress for each day, that sounds like great fun. I have a blue top with lemons on, and this Wednesday I got that out of my blue and lemons clothes bag to wear.
This is the PDF pattern if anyone wants to give it a go - Clothing bags I started with the shoe bag pattern from Fat Quarter Home by Amanda Russell and Julie Bawden, but the modified it lots, e.g. Using vertical strips, adding end sections past the zip, simplifying the pleats, changing the loops.
