Since I love to read, I was so excited to work on these.
This book counter can stand on its own. There was a lot of painting and gluing involved.
I think it turned out cute. I am pretty sure I will put this one into STS this season. I couldn’t resist the mushrooms and owl. 
It says 47 because that was the number of books I read last year.

I’m enjoying your book counters! I can only imagine the amount of time you spent painting and gluing. The work was worth it though, this came out nice and the mushrooms give it a whimsical touch!
There are some double-sided adhesive sheets that are made for projects like this. You adhere one side of the adhesive to the wood prior to cutting, then all you have to do is peel off the paper lining when you’re ready to glue the pieces together. It’s great for projects that have thin pieces or just a lot of pieces to glue. If you do get a laser cutter, I highly recommend getting the sheets!
I love this, and I suspect that there will be some fierce competition for it in the STS!!

Love the enchanted forest theme! It looks very crisp and cleanly made, too.
