It’s been a while, so I hope I’m doing this right!!

Project Name: Palaka dish towel
Project Link: My first warp on my (new to me) old floor loom!
Brief Description: This doesn’t use flannel, but is very similar to (if not itself) a flannel. I finally got an old neglected loom in working order enough to wear a warp I measured a while ago! My first project on my own floor loom!

And also, I hope I can count this, as it ended up being a WAY bigger project than I expected.
Prompt: October: Acorn

Project Name: Loom Restoration
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: A few months ago, I managed to get my hands on a floor loom that had been sitting in someone’s garage for a couple decades. It was actually pretty close to working order since she had kept it safe and covered up, but I ended up having to clean it up a bit, clean off quite a bit of rust (thanks to the salty sea air, everything rusts almost immediately here), and replace all the rusted heddles with new ones. It was a lot of time and effort, and I almost gave up a few times, but now that I’m finally weaving on it, I’m glad I kept plugging away at it.
Project Photo(s):
(Ack! I just realized I don’t have a photo of the whole loom at the moment and it’s all covered up and stowed because, ya know, the rust thing)
