Prompt: Into the Mystic (Advent 2)
Team: Gourd of the Rings!
Project Name: Grid drawing
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: I did one of those “copy what’s in these squares into the grid” pictures in my puzzle book. I used a regular (so gray) pencil because drawing isn’t my strong suit and I wanted the erasability.
Project Photo(s):

Team: Don’t Stop Be--ing
Project Name: Patchwork Scarf
Project Link: (Patchwork Scarf)
Brief Description: I made this patchwork scarf for the recent swap. It has a little loop to hold the end. This would work well with a SWEATER because hoodies are bulky around the neck sometimes. Besides, this time of year is all about the Sweater Weather!

@gozer ooh, I love the colours on that patchwork scarf!
@AudiobookLover I love the colours on that pumpkin! The white details really make the oranges pop, and vice-versa!

Prompt: October: Scarecrow
Team: I’m So Corn-fused
Project Name: Palaka dish towel
Project Link: My first warp on my (new to me) old floor loom!
Brief Description: This doesn’t use flannel, but is very similar to (if not itself) a flannel. I finally got an old neglected loom in working order enough to wear a warp I measured a while ago! My first project on my own floor loom!
Project Photo(s):
And also, I hope I can count this, as it ended up being a WAY bigger project than I expected.
Prompt: October: Acorn
Team: I’m So Corn-fused
Project Name: Loom Restoration
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: A few months ago, I managed to get my hands on a floor loom that had been sitting in someone’s garage for a couple decades. It was actually pretty close to working order since she had kept it safe and covered up, but I ended up having to clean it up a bit, clean off quite a bit of rust (thanks to the salty sea air, everything rusts almost immediately here), and replace all the rusted heddles with new ones. It was a lot of time and effort, and I almost gave up a few times, but now that I’m finally weaving on it, I’m glad I kept plugging away at it.
Project Photo(s):
(Ack! I just realized I don’t have a photo of the whole loom at the moment and it’s all covered up and stowed because, ya know, the rust thing)

Team: Don’t Stop Beleafing
Project Name: Crullers
Project Link:
Brief Description: I got a whim. That demanded my immediate attention. At 8:00 at night. To make crullers. I don’t know, y’all. I was so excited. They were frying so well. I took a bite and realized I forgot to put the vanilla in the dough. Because at that point it was 9:00 at night. On a weekday. I tried to help them with glaze, but they were just not very good. Somehow both sour and eggy. I know what to do next time, though! They “grew” into something else - puffing while frying, and also ended brown.
Project Photo(s):
Prompt: October - Apple cider
Team: Don’t Stop Beleafing
Project Name: Eye patch
Project Link:
Brief Description: My partner needed an eye patch. I made one out of leather, elastic, and rivets. The rivets required some crushing/squishing (with my rivet setter) to make.

Prompt: Week 1 - Dog Days Are Over
Team: Don’t Stop Beleafing
Project Name: Photo blanket
Project Link:
Brief Description: Midwest spread

Prompt: Week 2 - Into the Mystic
Team: Don’t Stop Beleafing
Project Name: Memorial flag
Project Link:
Brief Description: Some of you may remember from the past many years that I am a massive One Direction fan. One of the members, Liam, died last week. I have been more impacted by it than I would have expected. There was a local memorial that I attended. There were probably about 200 people throughout the few hours, which was really nice. I designed and made the flag in the photo, brought two dozen roses, and a candle in a tin that I had previously made. I was in a haze and didn’t manage to get better photos. The lyrics to Into the Mystic feel like a song about loss and survival. His soul and spirit are flying now.
Project Photo(s):

Team: Don’t Stop Beleafing
Project Name: Painted rocks
Project Link:
Brief Description: I painted some rocks during a couple of meetings the last few weeks. They’re a little wonky, but I’d say I called on my minimal drawing skills, which I’ve developed over the past few years (and continue to develop now).
Project Photo(s):

Team: So Corn-fused
Project Name: Getting Sketchy
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: Playing with new art supplies in the cute sketchbook @jemimah made for me in the Positive Affirmations swap. I don’t love my sketch but that’s kind of the point. I let myself just play with zero purpose, no attention to color or technique, just putting art mediums through their paces.
