Nifty 50s Knitter in Gouache

For my second private swap item for @Immaculata I decided to make something for her craft room. I stuck with a retro style and fell in love with an old sheet music cover that was too perfect not to use as a base reference (reference pic at the bottom of the post).

I have some gouache paints that Iโ€™ve only used once and I decided to give them a whirl. I love how blendable they are while still having the feel or acrylics.

This is so cool! I saw it on the private swap thread and loved it, but seeing the inspiration isโ€ฆwow.

I love your painting! I really like the colours you chose and how clearly you can see her face.

Nice take on a vintage image!

Love that the gouache is brighter than watercolors but still has that look.

Of course, no one knits in heels or holds needles like that, so for a knitter, this is also very funny!

I also forgot to add a ball of yarn so her yarn source is MAGIC.

Time traveling, 5th-dimensional magic knitting; I love it! Sheโ€™s so cool, and really stands out from the background. That reference photo is awesome, too.
