It has been really crazy around here. But I did take a bit of time to make this silly little olive. He is about 7 inches tall. The legs and arms are rat tail cording. They are silly but she just doesn’t look right without them. And now I can’t look at a jar of olives without imagining them swimming around all crazy or running around the relish tray on their tiny little appendages.
Whoa… I think all I need is some celery and I have all the ingredients for a mid century, old school fancy restaurant relish tray. I’ve got pickles, carrots and olives. Hmmmm. How am I going to capture the essence of celery!?! Because whole celery is pretty complicated. And I am certainly not going to crinkle cut the carrots. They would NOT like that. But, could I make a little pitcher of poppy seed dressing??? Oh wait! Radishes! Cut like roses. Will a red beet do? I have a red beet.
Well, there goes the rest of the day…
But more importantly… should the features be in black thread? And do I make different faces like my pickles?
Thank you Bunny. I think I am just fortunate that I can manage sometimes to actually make the things that make me laugh. It would probably be pretty terrifying if I could make ALL the things that make me laugh.
