Am thinking about claiming close to Nov/Dec. Will be my 1st swap. I’ve read all of the rules in the main post. I know I am allowed to make only 1 claim to start. Once that’s sent/rec’d, I can then make other claims if I want.
Just to be sure I understand, I don’t have to have already participated in any swap yet, right?

I defer to thanate and the swap mods on that, but I’m pretty sure Ongoing ATC was my first-ever swap back in the Craftster days.

The ATC Swap was my first when I jumped back in here. I made sure I met all the requirements before joining my first swap (May), then made 1 claim and waited for confirmation it was received. After that, I was able to make multiple claims like the description mentions.
Can’t wait for you to join in on the fun!

I received from @endymion for my sunflower theme. Look at this lovely watercolour–I didn’t know they made iridescent watercolours! I love it, and I also love sunflowers because they look happy 
It came in this beautiful butterfly-themed note & envelope set.

That’s right– when you want to start swapping, just fill out the questionnaire for the swap you want to join. The only thing slightly weird about the ATC swap is that your first claim has to arrive before you can make more claims, and then you have to get feedback for the swap (ie, all your claims for that month’s round must arrive) before joining a second swap. (for most swaps it’s just the second part.)

I received not one but TWO wonderful ATCs today. Yay!
First from @LindyBlues, this fun mini-dress for my “Fashion from any decade” theme.
It’s so 60s! Love the blue color, the swingy little skirt, and the highlights on the buttons. The ATC came to me in a handmade envelope and included a few nice stickers, as well.

Next, from @thanate, a many-layered meditation on my “Sleep/dreams” theme.
The text says: “There is too much light. SOLSTICE ~ season of weird dreams. Sleep is fitful, punctuated by semi-lucid dreams. I find myself pausing, trying to remember if this conversation actually happened/was real. Wait. I couldn’t have had that conversation. That person doesn’t exist.”
This really does feel like accurate description of the confusion of waking after a semi-lucid dream. And the layered artwork with the tissue obscuring some of the text suits the theme so well! Thanks so much, @thanate!

Also, the envelope had a giant, bold message:
I had to laugh, because that’s what I yell at myself every time I make any sort of craft. (Not that thanate meant it that way, of course.)

I hit the mail jackpot today!
In addition to getting my Monster Merit Badge from the Nerd Games last season, I also got 3 ATCs!

I love the map background and the silver details on the drawing.
And @stitchandstones couldn’t decide on which ATC to send, so both my youngest daughter and I got one 
For my sunflower theme, this lovely happy card. I especially love the details in the background and how they add to how the flower “pops.” And my daughter was thrilled with her T-rex playing maracas!

Her message was reiterating that messages need to be sent to the swap organizer when sending or receiving ATC.
