It’s not just mail, Amazon misdelivers to our neighbors Nd we get theirs. Restaurant deliveries end up in the wrong driveway. I’m just patient and gracious, they are all under stress and probably underpaid. But the biggest reason is that I live in a 50’s neighbor hood with nothing but New England capes. We have more than once almost pulled into the wrong driveway at night.
Luckily the neighbors all just accept the craziness.
if its to me…not yet. the snow. its becoming ridiculous.
i am anxiously awaiting the one i sent down to @AuFish, but maybe it cant survive the heat…lolz
*ETA - i got distracted by this amazing thread of awesomeness and hit reply a little too quick, but i also meant to say that @marionberries sent me the most amazing snowman with a sweet little knit hat and scarf…but my most favourite part of him was that nose!! so stinking cute!! (its actually the only ornament on my tree right now…because that’s how far we are in life. ha)
and the second edit. because. december bakery brain is ruining it for everyone. THANK YOU @marionberries (how rude am i? i totally forgot the two most important words!!!eek!! so yes: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! i love it!!)
Unbelievable…it was not even a package…it was a greeting card with some cardboard inside…ugh…well, I might need to send you a New Year ornament if it does not arrive soon!
i am being patient - the mail is being “special” these days, so i am sure it will turn up…everything is reduced staffing with the covid, etc., etc…i am also pretty sure i am on the canada post “naughty list” anyway. but its them. not me. i swear. ha.
Though the envelope showed a few signs of the crazy postal situation, the star from @mel arrived safely.
It is so beautiful and has an ethereal or airy quality to it because of the yarn. That is hard to capture in an image.
The color is actually about halfway between the two pics. My camera is being odd today.
She said the pattern was called "Starfish"which is perfect as it is a star for a fish.

Thank you @mel for such a beautiful addition to my collection! Love it!
I love it! Such tiny knitting…and so glad that some mail might be trickling in…I am betting some of our packages sent out months ago will also be found…
Ooh, what a beautiful star @mel! It reminds me of a sand dollar.
I realized that I didn’t need to wait for it to be light outside, I could take pictures of my ornaments from @saintcady on the Christmas tree (all my previous pics were taken outside before the Christmas tree was up and I guess I was running on autopilot, lol).
saintcady chose my ‘craft with my photo’ theme and made me not one, but two laser etched ornaments with pictures of my son. In all my thoughts on how the ornament would be made, laser engraving never once crossed my mind. The back of both ornaments have my son’s name and Christmas 2020 engraved on them. Thank you, Cady! You did a great job positioning the photos in the heart. These ornaments were definitely worth the wait and will be cherished for years to come!
What kind if laser etching machine do you have and what other types of projects do you use it for?
The snow persons nose is a paper bead. I had too big and too small and then that paper bead was just right. Hope he gets some companions soon!
awwww those are so nicely done and unique!
What a clever ornament…I must put that one on my list to try…the paper bead nose is hilarious and a great use of those!
Beautiful laser etchings if totally delightful photos!
Spool snowman is so cute!
yay!! glad it made it safely!! it was such a fun little knit…i hope to make a couple for my girls…in my not-so-spare time.
definitely Just Right sized nose!! i am thinking the girls will probably get some decorations on that tree tonight, after the eldest daughter’s return from school!!
and @saintcady - AMAZING laser photos!!! such awesome ornaments!!
Wow laser photos, so cool. And on hearts. Perfect.
I find myself really touched by the sweet simplicity of the minimalistic little star. I don’t think you even need to add any sequins to it!
The laser photos are very cool! It’s amazing what people are producing at home these days.
The spool snowman is also cute. What is the nose made of? I can’t tell.
What a fun snowman!
I love the beauty of the star. It reminds me of a sand dollar, too.
@saintcady do you have a Glowforge? Is that what you used for the engrave photo ornaments? They are very special!
Oh thanks! I need some decorations for next year…I need a beach themed tree!
Hi! I’m up in the mountains with spotty WiFi now. Hope this actually posts.
The snowman spool is adorable and I love the soft knit stars too. And the shiny fish is great! Makes me think of the Rainbow Fish book which my son loved.
I have a Full Spectrum laser, but similar to a glowforge. I tweaked the photos and shapes in inkscape, then on to the laser. I was afraid they were getting muddled when I was varnishing them, but I didn’t want to leave them unprotected. Glad you’re happy @AudiobookLover ! I love my laser cutter and use it a lot. Earrings, coasters and ornaments are fun, but also automatons, boxes, wall art, etc. I’m working on a spice rack right now.
It’s a paper bead. Only thing that was the right size without making somrthing.
