Paper, Mixed Media, Art Journaling Craftalong 2023

My junk mail has vanished for the most part. But we have an election in March so that should up the ante. I rarely get unusual stuff like that.

Wow, @geekgirl ! What are you using to sort/store all the blanks? I think if things are readied, then you are more apt to do something…I really want to do more journaling and play pieces next year…

and…you get the best junk mail!

One of my long term goals for 2024 is to finally make a junk journal…

The blanks are in my old prisma colored pencil box.

It was a nice tin but I didn’t like having to lift all the trays out trying to find the color I wanted so my pencils are in a special colored pencil bag.

I used card board to make compartments

The pieces in progress are in a $3 plastic tote from target

That’s a very nice case, where did you find it? It’s cool that your colors came in a tin, mine are in hard cardboard.
I forget which color exactly, but there is a Prismacolor in light blue that is no longer produced. I have mine marked with washi tape.

I got it on amazon. there are all kinds and it was hard choosing

y’all have seen the cats in cardigans I’ve used in collage,

well there is another book called Chonky Cats.

I have enough stuff. I do not need to buy pics of Chonky Cats.

Omg that’s awesome lol.

Great…it is in my cart…my sister has a chonky cat (28 pounds)…I have an idea to make her a folding book of her cat as well as other chonky cats!

This one was fighting with me from the outset. I couldn’t get anything to work, so I just added to it. ā€œJust keep paintingā€

I kept putting it down and coming back to it to see if I had a new wave of inspiration.

I think I’ll try another tutorial for the next one so I don’t have to over think!! I know there are plenty on this thread and the previous year’s ones but if anyone has a recommendation that would be great.

Who all is doing this tomorrow?

Also, an FYI, one email said that if you attended last year you already were set up for The LifeAlchemy Academyā„¢ on Mighty Network but I was not. I had to create an account.

I like your composition. you left like a more empty area in the middle to rest the eyes and have a lot of activity going on in opposite corners.

This is a pretty quick video. She has a lot of good videos that don’t need a ton of special supplies

so does Susanne Rose Art

I’ll take a look at those links too!

I didn’t get an email and I was there last year

Here is the link
It starts at 10:30 AM Central Time

I’m in but I’ll skip parts and hope to rewatch next week. I don’t like that we had to join yet another hosting site but it is what it is.

Thanks, it’s very easy to be over-critical to oneself.
