Loving these pages! I will have to try to carve out some art time this week.
First day of the Fodder Challenge - I can’t resist a splatter-y paper! And then to make mushrooms - yahoo!
All theses mushrooms are fabulous! I’m watching both of these tonight. Gonna get my shroom on!
those look great. I’ve watched the video but haven’t had a chance to make any. Need to see if I can find the couple of containers of magicals I have.
It’s $30 but I think most book binding classes are more. This is just a weekend thing and you should end up with a finished book. I am debating.

Description:
We’re pulling back the curtain and giving you a peek inside the Handmade Book Club for one weekend only, October 24th - 27th.
Step back in time with our medieval-inspired bookbinding project, where you’ll learn to create a beautiful, functional book using the long stitch and link stitch techniques.
This is a soft cover book with a durable binding and optional closure. Use it as an everyday notebook, a sketchbook or travel journal. There’s even space to glue in extra goodies into your book!
Their videos and instructions are great. If you’re interested in making that specific book and don’t have a lot of book binding experience, I highly recommend.
I was subscribed to their monthly subscription for a while and it was good but a bit repetitive and kind of expensive compared to other subscriptions. After you know how to make a couple book types, it’s mostly just picking and choosing variations to stick together.
I’ve heard good things about Handmade Book Club. I’ve made a few books but always just winged it.
Then I definitely recommend. You’ll learn some general tips that apply to most books in addition to the specific project.
Ooo! I am interested and might join you…
This seemed like a good thread to ask this question - does anyone have a favorite type of disposable glove they use when they don’t want to accidentally dye their hands? I have some regular blue nitrile ones and they work well but make my hands sweat and get uncomfortable after 30 min or so.
We use nitrile gloves that are powder free, they are purple although I doubt that makes them different from the blue ones. I can wear them over an hour without being bothered. Is it possible you need a larger size?
I just saw Alisa Burke has a new mail art class, and I feel targeted.
How’s the drying rack holding up? Are you finding it useful? I have it on my list once I figure out if I have enough space for it.
lol enjoy the class
The drying rack can be a little finicky. And light weight papers like to slide off but over all it’s great for keeping my wet papers corralled and not all over the place until they dry.
Luckily spot hasn’t thought to climb on it
Free mini abstract art class
Recent gelli prints I made
And @jeanneleigh gave me some rolls labels and I made gelli print stickers
Looks like the stickers printed up nicely!
I love the stickers! Great idea.
Fantastic! And the stickers are especially cool, love them!
Super cool. I love that red paisley looking one!
