Paper, Mixed Media, Art Journaling Craftalong 2025

I actually have all the colors. I went a little crazy when I got sick and got them all. BUT I did grab this one. I think it will be fun to challenge myself to do a piece of art with whatever color they send me! Thank you!!!

Nice!! Honestly if you’re using them a lot, having all the colors makes sense because of how blending with alcohol markers works.

I have some Ohuhu’s but haven’t really gotten into alcohol markers. I figure for $1, everyone needs one. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a gateway marker :joy:

Copics are sooooo much better than Ohuhu in my opinion. I adore them! Thanks so much for the link. I have been slowly getting refills this year. Some have dried out, and I love that I can refill them without having to buy a whole new marker.

I think I might pick up the sketching set (5 neutral grays and a multiliner) to see how I like them. Plus I ordered the $1 random color.

Everyone please ignore my post earlier today about not buying a bunch of new supplies in 2025… thanks!

Also, actual conversation with my husband a few min ago

Me: Someone tell your wife she doesn’t need a bunch of copic markers
Husband: lol
Me: you laugh now but they’re like $xxxx for a full set
Husband: you probably don’t NEED a bunch of copic markers right now, but maybe… holy crap

:joy:

My first LC enablement of the year

I love that it ships in February so I have time to forget about it and be surprised.

I am so glad i got mine when i did because i am WAY to cheap now. Refilling is so much cheaper.

Do copics smell as strong as the ohuhu markers? I was just playing with my ohuhus for about 15 min and I have a headache.

I let the preschoolers use the Ohuhu set I bought. The art studio is fairly large and I almost always have the windows open and air filter going so the smell isn’t too strong.

On another note, I’ve been making these. I think they are called paper lace.

Do they have a purpose? Don’t know. Was in a rabbit hole on YouTube. I suppose they’ll be textured backgrounds in my art journal.

Just watched another video using decorative napkins and a sewing machine. Will try that tomorrow. And I could add stitching to the ones pictured above - just need to let gel medium dry! Oooh, a new rabbit hole!

No! There is almost no smell at all. I got some cheaper markers and could not use them. I have never smelled my Copics

I need to try that little boxes from TP to one!

I’ve hated every water brush I’ve ever tried until I got this Caran d’Ache one. The amount of water that comes out is really consistent and I never get blobs of water. I feel like the bristles stay wet enough that I usually don’t need to press the button for more water or if I do it’s only once. I’ve used it a few times now and I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for a water brush.

I’m trying to remember a class I signed up for a few years ago (2021 maybe?) and I’m completely blanking on what it was called or who organized it. It was a compilation of artists and I think each artist had 2-3 lessons throughout the year and there were either weekly or bi-weekly lessons.

Here are the classes/teachers I know it wasn’t

  • Fodder School
  • Wanderlust
  • Julie Blazer
  • Alissa Burke
  • Aworkofheart/Andrea

I also know of it wasn’t the woman who teaches Lifebook. It was on a standalone platform, not teachable.

Any ideas? It was somewhat over my head for my skill level at the time and I’d like to revisit it.

Leftovers?

Brigit Koopen Bernstein - gel printing?

classes on Bluprint?

Good ideas, but none of those.

Tansy Hargan - Finding Your Colour Voice?

Not that one either, although I do have that one (and Brigit’s gel print class) and I also didn’t do that one :woman_facepalming:

I’ve signed up for SO many classes, it’s ridiculous.

Under the Influence

Living in Your Journal

Yep–I had to write mine down and put it on my bulletin board to remind me to stop doing it…I am still signed up for $25 a month to Vintage Books and I have only done two videos…I just need to cut it off but I keep saying I am going to download a few lessons for the $600+ I have paid…lol

I found it!! Thankfully I never delete any of my email, I just archive everything. It was Make Create Express on Art is Magic. Whew! Thanks for your help!

Your assignment is to either download the videos or cancel it by Friday. You could buy so much paint for $25/mo!
