Parrothead Coasters

For Christmas, I made my dad some coasters through Shutterfly. We’re a big Jimmy Buffett family, so Buffett lyrics seemed like an obvious choice.

I started by making various gelli prints and then cutting out 5-x-5-inch bases. These got some additional mark-making, stenciling, and miscellaneous zhuzzing before I added the sentiments.

Apparently I didn’t get good photos of the individual coasters before gifting, but here are the originals

From “Love in the Library”

From “Only Time Will Tell” (this song is sort of an inside joke between me and my dad)

From “Life Is Just a Tire Swing”

From “Nautical Wheelers”

I can personally attest at least one has gotten some use .

Thanks for looking!

I LOVE these! What a great way to reuse gelli prints! You’re making me want to get my gelli plate out.

What a brilliant way to utilize Shutterfly! These are so cool and to make them into something extra practical, but keep them totally safe from harm this way… just great! They must’ve been a huge hit.
