Plant Pot Saucers Into Beverage Coasters: Part 2

This spring I was able to add a battery-powered leaf blower to our garden tool collection so I can keep up with dust, pollen, and pine tree droppings on our new deck and its furnishings. It turns out that the last coasters I’d made from terra cotta plant pot saucers are not heavy enough for the mighty wind of that leaf blower. :grimacing: When I went back to the garden center to get a replacement, I decided to get 3 so we could have 6 rather than 4 coasters. THEN as I rounded a corner I saw these saucers and immediately decided to put back the terra cotta.

These 6 were about the cost of 3 of the others, too! To protect our surfaces, I added cork to these just like the last set.

I just like them so much better and have an oddly high sense of satisfaction when I see them out there. :woman_shrugging:

The terra cotta ones were not wasted, however. They work fine on the balcony above the deck with it’s copper and brown and grey color scheme. Pardon the pollen on the table. I think we’re allllmost done with pine pollen season. :crossed_fingers:

Clever reuse of a product. They look great and keep the outdoorsy, easy going vibe of your deck.

That is such a clever idea.
I absolutely love the looks. You could probably also stencil a design in the middle.

Maybe I give it a try. I definitely could use some new coasters.
