Plant Pot Saucers Into Beverage Coasters

We’re remodeling our deck which means we got non-dining furniture which means we needed coasters.

When poking around the garden center I noticed these typical terracotta pot saucers and thought, why not make them coasters? Plain terracotta didn’t really go with the style we’re getting out there, so I painted the underside with satin black spray paint from my stash. I also cut cork with my Sizzix to keep them from scratching the new furniture.

We’ll see how they hold up!

That is a wonderful idea for outdoors. Functional, yet it gives a hint of gardening and outdoorsiness.

Yes- the vibe is real! I like the black underside. It adds a bit of class to the terra cotta, too.

Thanks, y’all! I think plain terra cotta would be super cute with a cottage, farmhouse, or even boho style, but would’ve been out of place with the direction our deck’s style is taking. The black tied it in with our vibe and with the black details we’re going with.

What a great idea! The cork was a smart addition and how nice that you were able to cut it with your Sizzix!
