POLL: Which 5 Swaps Should Open First?

I’m sorry if I offended anyone with my question.

My thinking is distracted to begin with and even worse now with all that is going on.

You are right, geekgirl.

It’s ok to be concerned and ask questions. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: If you don’t feel its safe to swap, that’s ok too. You can still chat on the forums and keep in touch with everyone. :blue_heart:

That’s right. Everybody has to do what feels most comfortable for them. If it seems scary receiving items in the mail, that’s how you feel and those feelings are valid. Asking questions is a good thing right now. Though I do wish people would consult the WHO website and local medical authority for real answers, not social media, and not even politicians who are simply not experts in virology after all. I had to have a bit of a talk with some family members. There are a lot of silly ideas floating around right now.

Yes, everyone knows their own circumstances best and will have to make their own informed decision regarding swapping and mailing.

Sending everyone good thoughts. (but zero touchies.)

I have a personal swap item coming soon. My plan is to wear some disposable gloves when opening the box. (I have a gigantic box of food-handling gloves because I used to bake semi-professionally.)

I’d pour the contents of the box out on a table. Then discard the box and gloves in a plastic bag and secure the bag.

The items inside would not have been touched for a few days (for example, I posted my outgoing box on Saturday and it’s not due to arrive until Tuesday). So I’m thinking I’d probably be comfortable handling the items inside. Just not the outer carton.

OK, the Lettuce Crafters have spoken. The top five swaps are

One Tiny Thing Swap @Camelama
Color In a Box @kittykill
Common Ground @Bunny1kenobi
Go Bananas @MistressJennie
4 x 6 Art Swap @Kwality570

You five are welcome to open your swap anytime. Things have changed since we started this poll. If you, for any reason, do not want to organize at this time, please send me a message and we’ll go with the swap with the next most votes.

I would suggest all of us use the old swap sign up form, if that is okay. That way It is uniform and easier for members. I am not near a computer but if someone can copy and paste it, that would be awesome.

I will start my sign ups tomorrow when I am at a computer.

Guys, my job closed its doors today, until further notice. As my job provided a substantial portion of our income, I’m now scrambling to find a way to replace it. I’m devastated to say that I’m forced to put Common Grounds on the back burner for now. If someone else wants to step in and host, I’m happy to consult, otherwise I would just have to back out entirely right now. I’m so very sorry.

I’m so sorry. I wish there was a way to help. Please know I am thinking of your family and hope you are able to find another job. Such trying times. My heart hurts for you.

Woo! I am happy to host a One Tiny swap. I was thinking a One Tiny Plushie might be good to start off with but maybe I should open a poll for which tiny thing?

I’m sure that no one here would expect you to carry on hosting with such difficult circumstances to deal with.
I wish you the best of luck, that you find a new source of income quickly and that, although you don’t feel you can host, you can continue to craft and that it brings you some solace. :purple_heart:

I’m so sorry to hear that!! Big virtual hugs!!

If no one volunteers to do the Common Grounds swap, I can do magnets (or whichever swap was next in the vote could go). Unfortunately my brain is close to max capacity so I’d only want to host a swap I’ve done before.

I’m so sorry to hear that @Bunny1kenobi! Perhaps if you cannot host Common Ground at this time, and there isn’t anyone who wants to organize it right now, we could go with whichever swap suggestion had the next number of votes? What do you think @racky? Normally I’d offer to do it for you Bunny1kenobi, but I’m organizing Go Bananas, and I try very hard to limit myself to organizing 1 swap at a time.

Almost forgot! I did get the signups open for Go Bananas yesterday. Here’s the link friends:

Im so sorry to hear that, @Bunny1kenobi. I totally understand. @Smmarrt, would you like to host the Prayer Flag swap now? That is the next one in line. :slightly_smiling_face:

@Camelama, I voted for the OTT swap as my top choice because of the wide range of items I can craft for my partner. Personally, I would not have voted for an OTT stuffie swap because I prefer to receive practical items. I think you should leave the swap as just OTT, then have people make a list of the types of items they want to receive in their signup info.

Yes, I like the traditional unthemed OTT swaps best as well, I also cast a vote for this.
