I painted this for a friend after his beloved dog passed away. It’s not perfect, but he loved it. Why are dogs SO hard for me to paint? Gouache and colored pencil on canvas stretched watercolor paper by Soho.
I’m impressed with your abilities. You did such a good job creating the fur and I love how you added the highlights. On top of that, the eyes have such a life like appearance. You have a talent for breathing life into your paintings and this is no exception. No wonder your friend loves it!

Its beautiful! I understand what you mean about painting/drawing dogs. They’re hard to capture perfectly but I’m sure you did great with this lil guy!
