October is here and already underway! We have a new BOM, a new monthly prompt, and will soon be announcing the winners of the September Scrap-a-thon!
October’s BOM is one that was suggested by @Marionberries and features a pumpkin. This will be fun to see in non-traditional pumpkiny colors (I’m thinking of your pink and purple batiks @AIMR)!
October Prompt Be inspired by the season:
September 22nd marked the first day of fall, which means colorful changes all around us. Not only that, but with Halloween approaching, we get to enjoy fun Halloween-y colors, which seem to also be changing as fabric manufacturers are incorporating more non-traditional Halloween colors like pinks and teals. Let the colors and/or themes of the season inspire your next project. Perhaps you’ll follow in @AIMR’s footsteps and make a fun patchwork candy corn pillow, or make this colorful candy corn quilt, or use this candy corn flying geese block to make fun placemats (why all candy corn examples? One click, led to another and before I knew it, I was in a quilted candy cornucopia)! With all the different themes and color combinations of the season, the possibilities are endless!

A hexie quilt is my dream quilt…so beautiful…just to have that many fabrics would keep me very happy looking at it…sigh
I tried handcutting hexie templates, disaster!
The library maker space has a cricut that’s free to use, does anybody know of a file for hexies in their library? All I can find are instructions on creating them in their design studio but that’s more than I’d have time for on my lunch break.
I think design space would actually be the easiest. There’s a built in hexagon shape so you can add it to a blank canvas then adjust to whatever size you want.
You can copy/paste multiples onto the canvas then click “Make It” to get to the cutting screen.
Let me know if you want and I can make a shareable project file. I’d just need one of the measurements for the hexies you’d like and what size paper you’ll be cutting on so I can add multiples to fill it.
Can you believe there are less than 3 months to go until the new year?
Let’s make the last quarter of 2022 a productive one!
Quarter 4 Challenge

In order to be eligible for this challenge, your quilted project needs to be something that you either started or worked on sometime this year. It can either be a project that you are currently working on, or one that you previously set aside. Let’s make room for fun, new projects in 2023!
