I agree. Some mistakes can be hidden or of no consequence, but this one needs to work.

-I MistressJennie, offer Scrappy Paper Pieced Rainbow Star Quilted Basket for my small challenge entry.

This piece was in-progress on my table for well over a month. I don’t know how I missed putting it on my Goal List, but somehow I did. Oh well. I had a wonderful time making some rainbow FPP mini star blocks from some of my favorite squares in my 2.5" scrap bin. The stars were made from a free pattern from Wombat Quilts. It was for sheepBlue, in a personal swap. And I even got to give it to her in person!

This is gorgeous! It would not have been a small for me. All those tiny fabric pieces! I love the colors too.

I agree that it would be a large for me, sewing all those stars and tiny pieces. beautiful work and fabulous mix of colors and patterns on the stars and the pieced insert.

Plus, math…that is worth at least a medium by itself!

I edel offer this flimsy as one of my fourth quarter goals finish.

This is my magic lanterns flimsy, it fought with me a lot today. I brought it to our quilt meeting, and I think the combo of many voices and distractions, and not having space to spread it out, meant that I picked it up and turned it around and totally screwed it up so many times. I ripped out one entire row, resewed it and realised it was right the first time. There was much quiet swearing at that point. Plus the remaining rows were rotated incorrectly. Tired brain didn’t help.

However the flimsy is done, then I realised that while working from corner to corner, I completely missed that three three identical blocks ended up together along one side. Smh so I am going to sit with it a little while, (I’m ignoring the two the same way the other end) but I would say I’ll likely rip out the middle of the three together and replace it. And I might replace the centre of one of the duo. But not today.

Today is fine, and it also completes a bingo prompt, I wound three bobbins before I started..

The other thing about this, is all the printed fabric is from AliExpress. The white is a cotton sheet, there is less than €30 of fabric in this top and is big, that’s a large sewing machine bag sitting beside it. And the fabric quality is perfectly acceptable. It’s not premium quilting cotton, but it’s a good workaday cloth

Is a flimsy just the top pieced part of a quilt?

I love this pattern and color. The look like strings of crystals. What is the pattern called?

I am sorry that you had a few challenges making it, but in the end, it is really lovely.

Yes I believe that’s what a flimsy is

The pattern is a free Donna Jordan one. There’s enough of the pdf to get you going. Just got the love of all that’s holy, make sure you get each block oriented correctly!!
