Rainbow Blue Mandala

I had some yarn left over from the last mandala I made, so I used more of my ‘good’ yarn to make another smaller mandala!

For this one, I used the rest of my rainbow yarn and almost all of some leftover coordinating blue yarn (I only have ~1 yard left!).

Pattern: Carry-on, A Mandala of Hope (ravelry link)
Hook: D (3.25 mm)
Yarn: Knit Picks Felici Fingering Weight, colorway Cloudy With A Chance of Rainbows; Knit Picks Stroll Fingering Solids, colorway 23693

I followed the pattern until I ran out of rainbow yarn, though I did have to adapt the last rainbow round - everywhere there’s a single double crochet, I was supposed to have two. But I changed it to stretch out the little bit of yarn left, and it worked!

Then I completed as many rounds as I could with the blue and used the rest to attach the mandala to the inner part of the embroidery hoop (by pulling the yarn through stitches and wrapping it around the hoop). After evening out the wrapped yarn, I added the outer part of the hoop.

Super pretty! I really like those colours, the purple especially is just striking. Usually that shade melds in but woo! So nice and vibrant!
