Rainbow Flower Mandala

I wanted to make something nice with some of my ‘good’ yarn, so I made a flower mandala!

This picture shows the colors a little better, but I couldn’t get a picture from directly in front without getting a shadow on it.

Pattern: Flower Mandala (ravelry link)
Hook: D (3.25 mm)
Yarn: Knit Picks Felici Fingering Weight, colorway Cloudy With A Chance of Rainbows

This was a fun project and it worked up surprisingly fast considering every round was different and I had to really concentrate on what I was doing.

The rainbow Felici yarn was originally purchased to make some fingerless gloves for a swap partner a few years ago, and I had a little over a skein left after I made them. It was really nice to work with, but it’s discontinued, so I’m glad I found a good project for what I had! I still have a little bit left to use - maybe another small mandala?

Some in-progress pictures:

Hanging on my wall! I wasn’t sure if I’d have room, but it fit perfectly in the empty space.

I think that the combination of the mandala circular “thing” and the variegated yarn is almost mesmerizing.
