I made this wrap skirt in 2024 and posted it here January 2025:
I wore it to an art opening shortly after and realized it was not easy to walk in. So I started working on converting it to a non-wrap skirt but lost track of the project somewhere along the way. I just finally finished it. I have no idea how it got to be so much shorter though…
That sweater is too warm for the weather today even though it has cooled down a wee bit. So I found something a little better suited to the weather…

I keep thinking I must have cut it shorter but I don’t remember doing that…
Looks great! I bet it is really comfortable. I noticed that you added a waistband…maybe that made it shorter?
I have loads of wrap skirts and would love to try to convert them to elastic skirts. It is too windy here to wear wrap anything without wearing shorts or tights underneath.

The original wrap skirt had a waistband that extended into ties and I actually just cut it down to size for this. It has been a little crazy in my studio in the time I’ve been working on this so I am going to dig through my mending basket and see if there are scraps in there… The new work table is helping me pull everything out and finish forgotten projects but things definitely got weird around the beginning of tax season last year (my first with my own tax business). The mending basket turned into two mending baskets and there are all sorts of “What the heck was I doing?” in there… I will probably leave this skirt this length but I did consider adding something to the bottom.

I have a few of those …what was I thinking mystery projects! I have got to decide to try to salvage them or let them go. If I want to know where a lot of my pins are, they are in the mending basket…
