Wrap Skirt and Sweater Outfit

So, I did most of this last year before I was sick. I just finished the skirt this morning and I still need to weave in ends on the sweater.

The sweater is hemp and cotton, a knitting pattern I found on Ravelry and heavily altered. The skirt is vintage upholstery fabric (with Scotchgard. :joy: ) It’s a wrap skirt that ties in the back.

Originally I was planning to wear this to a friend’s wedding but then I got an upgrade to bridesmaid that necessitated a wardrobe shift.

That skirt is great, I love that you used vintage fabric. Pretty top, I have endless admiration foot knitters. I don’t have the patience

I used to knit all the time but now I just have too many spine issues affecting my hands so it’s not as easy as it used to be. If I remember correctly, you are a quilter, which is funny because I don’t have the patience for quilting.

Awesome skirt! That print is so striking.

I am a quilter, funny though I don’t think you need as much patience for that as knitting, because you’re always switching fabrics, tasks. Whereas for me knitting is months of same colour tedium and getting beaten by the nuns for getting it wrong.

I blame the nuns

Nuns! That explains it. My mom, also a quilter and not a knitter, went to Catholic school and has nun trauma too.

I love this! I have a half-done t-shirt sweater in my yarn box. I love the look of yours paired with that colorful skirt!

The colour of your bus caught my attention, it’s bright and cheerful.

Isn’t it? The whole landscape is brown right now so it stands out even more than it does when everything is green!

Love the outfit!

I haven’t knitted with hemp before, how was it on the hands?

Thanks!

It was not bad. I think being mixed with cotton probably helps with it’s softness.

I like your skirt. Would never have guessed that it’s upholstery fabric! :open_mouth: It looks more like a vintage, bandana pattern to me. :sparkling_heart: Nice modeling!
