Sara the Triceratops

This sweet little dinosaur came up to my back door today.

She is a bit shy, but warmed up quickly and ate all the greens I had in the house! Sara is gentle and cudly, but she did warn the cats off with her fuzzy little horns, then flopped over to show her belly and snuggle with the kitties. She will be the 5th dinosaur for my granddaughter’s birthday in early January. She will be 7 and still lines them up and tucks them in every night.

The Choly Knight patterns are so fun, and they have a dinosaur pattern pack now. I vowed never to make this four-legged pattern again after I made the Brontosaurus, but I forgot. The feet are fiddly with fleece, and I doubled down on using minky for the feet, and the pattern had you sew the head and ruff on first, which was not necessary. It just added to the bulk. Tip: Baste the feet first; otherwise, you go nuts. Her little feet are adorable, so it was worth it. The belly and horns are also minky, scraps from my stash. Well, it all came from my stash.

This is just TOO cute! Your granddaughter will love it!

Ahhh! So cute! I love that you made it from fleece so it’s extra cuddly, and those fuzzy feet were definitely worth the trouble, I’d say.
