I have mine in plastic bins and took pictures of them. I then inserted the pictures into an excel spreadsheet with the bin number and brief description. Instead of opening all the bins, I just look at the picture.
OMG! @AIMR and @Immaculata you are so organized. I just put away several trays of fabric scraps, fat quarters and small pieces from a half year of specialty quilt blocks. Zip lock bags would drive me batty when I am doing my artsy stuff. I do admire organization and continually strive towards itā¦
I use the card board trays the canned cat food comes in as project trays. Keeps every thing together for a project. The only down side is at the end of a project they are easily set aside and they donāt empty themselves!
I sort of work like that when I am working on a projectā¦my room looks like a tornado hit it! But, I am pretty good about putting everything back before starting the next project or at least in separate boxes so I can get at them easilyā¦I have a pile on my chair of fabrics to put away before I start cutting for this swap. My brain canāt handle looking at them not in their rightful place!
Got all of my squares mailed this afternoon! Sadly, no handwovens this time. Itās been fun to see everyoneās squares start to arrive. Iām really looking forward to seeing what everyone does with their squares!
I received one package, Iāll post soon. Mine are waiting for me to get in the car and drive. We are out of fresh fruit and veggies and missed the farmers market, so a trip out is needed. I like to xlump trips.
I will post tomorrow morning. I had hoped to do it earlier this week, but life!
I mailed last Friday, and Iām starting to worry that they got lost.
Donāt give up hope! I think sometimes it takes longer than that. Postal service has, on average, slowed way down over the past couple of years.
Agreed! USPS changed delivery dates from 2 days to 5 days a couple months ago so Iād wait at least 2 weeks before starting to worry something got lost.
Oh, wow! I mostly send packages (2-3 day) - I had no idea it was that bad now.
One thing Iāve learned from the happy mail thread is that mail delivery makes no sense at all anymore. There have been cards that reached me in Europe before someone else received it within the US.
I see your card in my USPS informed delivery email this morning so it should be delivered today
I mailed my dad a card for Fatherās Day, sending it the Monday before. Actually I put it in the mailbox on Sunday night, so as not to miss the carrier the next day. It usually takes 3 business days to get to them. My parents only got it on Wednesday after Fatherās Day, so it took 9 days.
Reminder: Sendouts for this swap are TOMORROW, June 25th!
If you are going to be late sending for any reason, you need to contact all your partners and organizer, along with an expected ship date.
And thank you to the 6 swappers who have already sent all their packages! Way to go friends.
Oh, wow. Well, yāall have eased my mind!
I have all my envelopes ready to goā¦I just have to STOP cutting! lolā¦
I am also sending out to some non-swappers as I have other things to send out.
I also saw a few envelopes in my Informed Delivery! YAYā¦oh, and I did get an envelope from @endymion but it was delivered to my neighbor (the one I try to avoid at all costsā¦)ā¦she gave it to me on my way out yesterday, thank goodness, so I didnāt spend an hour of her gossiping about all of the Hispanic landscapers (including mine!)ā¦ughā¦I havenāt even opened it yet, but I will today!
I was just walking by the wall hanging I made with my scraps and admiring all of the fabrics. So much fun and inspiration in there! Did anyone else make anything with their scraps?
If this swap comes back around Iād 100% participate!
I sorted out some by color / style, all ready to make a pillowā¦. And then never made the pillow.
I made a big bag.
