Scrappy Pink Yarn Basket

While I was working on my Scrappy Sea Glass Yarn Basket, Ada very gravely informed me “Mama, these colors aren’t very good for me. I prefer pink.” I explained that the basket wasn’t for her.

“Silly Mama! Of course it’s for me!”

So I dug through the stash again, and pulled out some yarns that would appeal to her. There was a big ball of multiple shades of pink/purple/turquoise that has been in my stash at least a decade, and I used it to guide the rest of the palette. I also had a ball of fuschia, a splotchy white with bits of black, pink and turquoise, etc. I lobe how they all worked out to make the body mostly pink, with a blue edge.

Apparently Ada approves, because it’s currently full of toys, when she isn’t wearing it on her head as a helmet.

Ada approved! I love when you tell us the colors you mix. It is always such a surprise to me how they look together and become cohesive! I am going to try mixing some of more “ugly” yarns to see if I can get a good result.

Great job…oh, and also, I can see how it would be an awesome helmet!

And a nice and generous mama! Not just silly. This looks great and looks like a great way for store toy and to protect her noggin.

Hah, Ada is a lucky kid and that is a very cute and stylish helmet/toy bin.

I love her confidence! She knows she’s got her mama all the way (and why wouldn’t she?) !

Your color choices for both of these are lovely.

Great colors. She should ask for an official helmet next.
