These baskets are fun to make and so useful! I have multiple around my house holding things like socks and project bags, and I’ve gifted several to friends and family. (Apparently they’re quite useful for keeping the family cat from knocking pens/etc off of tables.) 
These were made with two strands of worsted weight acrylic yarn held together and are based on this pattern. The sides are crocheted taller than needed and then folded over to make them sturdier.

These look so good. My favorite is the sunny orange/yellow. I like the heft the folded down sides have. Makes them look more substantial. I made a nest basket like that once, it’s still surviving after being a kid’s toy for years.
She’s a bit too big for the baskets! She loves sitting on this side table and will knock anything in her way off of it (or just knock things down because cat). It probably doesn’t help that I play ‘knock the mousies down’ with her by putting them on the table just for her to bat them onto the floor. 
Wow, these are really neat, and I’d definitely have them all over the house with things in them.
