We are always looking for ways to finish our pieces…thanks for sharing…I have a few small canvases that are never going to be painted as well. I am going to try this for a few pieces sitting in my WDIDWIN pile! (What do I do with it now?)
Smart!!
@AIMR - WDIDWIN pile! LOL - so true.
Thank you.
Do you mean the purple one? If so, no. Sadly, too many things were going wrong. But, I did buy another one with a soft-top
Quick stitch. Free pattern from Blooming Intention. Wasn’t what I had planned but I’m running out of quarter! Somehow it’s still never enough time. I might turn it into a hanging ornament for my MIL.
I am a little late to the party here, but my (glow in the dark) lab mice have defrosted and are doing a little celebration dance for blue skies, warm sunshine, and fresh Spring air. They are having so much fun they haven’t noticed that the neighborhood outside cat is also back out on the prowl. They also need a bath, I think they might’ve gotten into the bike grease.
Anyway, I am now motivated to finish before the end of the month. The background has already used up most of a skein of floss. Eeeek!
Just ignore my complete disregard of unraveling borders. I have a plan…
It isn’t perfect, but it’s done! Next I need to iron it flat and sew it into the project it’s destined for. I also need to see if I can get a pic of it glowing in the dark.
I love it!! Oooo…glow in the dark?!
The mice are made of glow in the dark floss! Pretty much the whole reason I picked mice.
Yess…super cool!
So darn cute…also, never tried glow in the dark floss, but since we do a Halloween stitch each year, I can see many uses!
For cross stitch, it snags an awful lot. I don’t think I will do that again. But I am also quite terrible at this and don’t need any help screwing it up. My next experiment with glow in the dark floss will be crocheted hoop earrings.
Funnily enough, this talk about glow in the dark thread matches with our next quarterly theme. I’m posting a day early.
2nd Quarter General Theme: Get Tricky! (Inspired by Hannah Hand Makes)
Pick a design that challenges you or learn something new such as French Knots, beading, or backstitch. Or stitch with a different kind of thread such as light effects thread or variations!
Additionally, monthly themes are always an option…
April: Earth Day: Environmental awareness and sustainability
May: Flourishing & Abundance: Flowers and trees are in full bloom
June: Warmth & Sunshine: Warmer weather, beach outings, and sunny days
This information is always available in the first post of this thread.
We had 4 stitchers share their work in the thread last quarter, and while not all were theme-related, I’d be willing to stretch definitions to get a drawing going, but we are still 1 short! Hopefully we will have 5 unique stitchers next quarter to hold our drawing!
Please feel free to keep sharing your stitches, even if they are not related to the themes!
It certainly would fit with this quarter’s theme if you try it!
But why?
The weirdness speaks to me, it’s just so unusual!
I feel like my hair is a part of all my projects!! Unintentionally, it just gets everywhere
Yes, it is odd…people used to make all sorts of things out of human hair. Go for it!
Me too! I cracked someone up when I looked down at something I was making, saw how much of my hair was wound up in it, and said “Woah, that’s a lot of DNA…”
It’s almost like we’re asking for a voodoo to be made of us!!!
