I thought about doing this swap last year, but anxiety got the best of me. Maybe this year!
I have a pile of things made that I don’t have plans for - mostly amigurumi with some hats, baby blankets, and a small shawl. I think I have some friendship bracelets somewhere as well - I’ll have to find them.
The hippo!! I was admiring it when you were posting progress photos. Gah so much cuteness!
I bet your shop will sell out quick!
I’m still going to be out this round even with the extension. My crafting mojo has taken a bit of a break after we said goodbye to one of the cats a couple weeks ago.
I get this. It was months begore i was productive again after losing my beloved Dahl. It was during the yard sale. I felt horrible because i planned to do so much, but in the end it was best that i took a break. Your mojo will come back. Giving your heart time to heal is smart. I am sorry you are going through this.
I’m a bit worried because so far only one person is looking for art. As of tonight I have 11 new pieces for the store…10 are tiny art. Annnnd I have two more tiny pieces sketched but not painted.
I keep telling myself I’ll work on other things, then I have a bad day and it’s straight to my paints.
Things I’m looking for: amigurumi, presents, and stocking stuffers. Nothing specific, really.
Things to decorate my walls (and gifts for some people) definitely includes art! Your art is wonderful - I’d love to hang another of your pieces on my wall.
In retrospect, it’s not a bad thing if my store is a bit slow this season. It just means I’ll be able to stockpile more items for next time. And I’d have more happy mail fodder…which I am worfully behind on sending.
I think I am officially going to have to bow out of this round. I realized I spent way too much time on a big (for me) project earlier, and I don’t think I will have enough time to sustain a shop. I also have a mini vacation and three cats going to the vet between now and the end of September so I have to save my money.
I also got supplies for a Halloween quilt for my birthday last year, and my goal is to have it done by Halloween this year. Too many things going on and not enough time. I am the world’s slowest quilter.
I will pace myself better next year and set a goal of two things a month for this swap so I don’t get caught off guard again. I was trying to figure things out and realized I would be putting myself under too much pressure.
You will be missed but I know everyone understands. It’s so hard prioritizing sometimes and letting go of things we want to do but just can’t. Sending good vet visit vibes your way for the kitties and can’t wait to see your quilt!
You will be missed! It can be difficult when you’re surrounded by projects. I’m taking it one day at a time to sort through the big clusters of stuff in my house. My main cross stitch project took a side-seat for a little bit, while I was slowly catching up on the dreaded business calls as well.
I did most of my crafting for this swap over winter, then gathered supplies during the Great Craft Room Organization.
This year I will try to make sure I don’t update the swap while tired.
Thanks for the vet’s well wishes. My only boy gets so nervous at the vet’s that he has to get medicated before he goes, and it’s so stressful (for the both of us). I am pretty sure he will need dental work again this year, too. My toilet was leaking and I am in the process of getting that fixed. I have to get new subflooring and flooring. And since I was getting that done in one bathroom, I decided to add new flooring in the laundry room, too. It’s just been a lot going on.
I am also going a little crazy over this quilt. How can quilters just cut strips of fabric? I have to fussy-cut everything. Just thinking about it has been mentally taxing.
