Would anyone be interested in some of these guys?
I was thinking of making a few more for coworkers and was curious how many i should make.

Me! I would!
Yes, please! Totally would love one or two.
Awesome. Now I have an excuse to play! ![]()
I’d also be interested! I haven’t done this swap before, but I’m hoping to join this time around. I had come up with a project for the High Five challenge, but after realizing that there just wasn’t enough time, I’ve reworked it so that I can make a few and offer them up in this swap. In fact, I’ve got a list of items that I am hoping to make, so
.
Those little pumpkin heads are so cute, @gozer ! I think they’d be claimed pretty fast around here!
Also, @irid3sc3nt , the “holiday surge” pricing is, sadly, not new. They’ve been doing it for at least a few years, but maybe longer. It just always feels like a gut punch because, like you said, October ain’t the holidays. And in my opinion, neither is anything after New Year’s Day. It lasts for more than a quarter of the year, and tied with the big hikes they just implemented last month, I hope folks don’t end up turning to the private couriers, because that’s going to hurt a lot of folks in the long run. Ughhh
Um, of course!!!
If USPS were to disappear, I don’t know what I would do. How would I send holiday cards? I like to make them for various holidays. I’d have to scan them and send via email? Make all of them at once and send in a package? I’m sure they would be too expensive to send individually.
So much is expensive already.
Love the USPS but I am feeling worried about shipping costs this time around. It cost me more than $7 to ship a single pair of earrings! ![]()
I’m trying to think about how to maybe bundle things to consolidate shipping?
@irid3sc3nt I think there’s still enough junk mail, bills, jury summons, etc. that there will still be a need for letter-carrying services. (What the cost would be, I have no idea!) I worry that USPS gets dissolved and/or privatized, because living in a non-contiguous U.S. region means severely-limited affordable other options. (USPS is the same rates to AK, HI, PR, Guam, and I believe all military bases, as it is from east to west coast of mainland. The private couriers are a LOT more pricey. Ughhhhh)
@saintcady I’m also a little worried about shipping costs this time. I refused to add mine up last year because they were…. a lot.
One thing that can help save on postage is if you weigh and print labels at home. (It’s been cheaper than in-store purchases for many years at this point.) You can also do it through one of those other services (I like Pirateship) that can take advantage of bulk shipping rates.
I also send (nearly) everything Ground Advantage at this point. Those rates didn’t increase too much this summer like the rest of them, and faster shipping times aren’t guaranteed anyway.
Sorry yall. I guess I think about these things a lot because we don’t have local access here to some things, so some things always need to be shipped. ![]()
yay for fresh participants! it’s a fun one
and @saintcady that seems like a lot for such a light item – I agree with @Mountains_and_Clouds to try Pirateship or I think Paypal has a built in option I’ve heard of? I use Pirateship and REALLY like the savings (it even saves you on the flat rate boxes, which kind of blows my mind)
And sometimes it comes up with a cheaper rate for UPS, which also blows my mind.
My parents use Pirateship as well.
I recently started using Pirateship and would also recommend it.
I also recommend Pirateship. It’s how I ship anything that doesn’t use a stamp.
Yup, Pirateship is my go-to also, although I’ve used PayPal in the past, too.
My sewing machine is going into the shop and will be out of commission for a bit. I sat down and sculpted 6 more pumpkin-head pin dolls last night. I still need to paint them. I also have another plan to make something that is not sewing-related. Fingers crossed it works out. I already have enough to start my store, I just want to have enough to do some restocks. ![]()
I looked at my project for a while and thought, “What about washi tape?” Meanwhile, in the land of Approaching Deadline…![]()
Ok! I signed up for Pirateship in preparation for the swap. I’m hoping to finish sewing up some amigurumis this weekend and start taking some photos. There are still a bunch of things I want to make, I’m currently working on these mini crocheted balloons. The “string” is wire so you can attached them to things and they are adorable!
My cats say they look like toys
Oh, silly kitties.
Yeah, my dog thinks all my amigurumi are chew toys. I’ve stopped showing him completed items altogether!! ![]()
