Using @sheepBlue’s excellent stumpwork tutorial, I tried a multi-layer flower.
It’s far from perfect but I really enjoyed making it and I learned so much for future projects.

Gorgeous flower!
And thanks for the link. I was thinking my dragon needs new wings…
Wow…beautiful! So much possibility with this technique…
Seriously cool!
It’s gorgeous!! Looking forward to seeing the future projects!
Well spank my arse and call me Patsy, this is incredible!
WOW … love this!
That is a seriously cool project.
Stop knocking your work. Looks pretty damn perfect to me
Wow, that’s one impressive stumpwork flower!
You did a great job.
Beautiful, lovely work and such vibrant colours! I love stumpwork, always looks so impressive
That turned out amazing! Love the variety of petal shapes and colors
You are a woman of so many talents. This is fabulous. The thumbnail photo looked so realistic. So amazing!
Thanks all. I was happy with the result but see lots of room for improvement. The colour transitions, completely filling the space so no background shows through. I’ve seen edgeing that’s almost like a buttonhole stitch too, very nice finish.
I’ve got a subscription to Inspirations embroidery magazine, it’s very high level work. I’ll keep trying & improving
We are always our own worst critics!
This is beautiful, and good for you, trying something new!
So pretty! I love the color.
I think stump work is amazing! Nice job!
Absolutely stunning!
Let me pick my jaw off the floor! This is incredible. I can’t image all the work that went into it.
This is beautiful and for your first time? Wow.
Simply gorgeous!
