I’ll start us off. I signed up for a sweater making class that starts Tuesday, Jan 28. We will be knitting the Carbeth. I picked up my yarn the other day (Malabrigo Chunky in Forest). I’m so excited. I have yet to successfully complete a sweater.
I love the color of that yarn, and the pattern looks really interesting! The style lines on the yoke area are really cool. You might talk me into trying this pattern too haha.
I’m planning to do a couple of sweaters/tops this year, so we’ll see how far I get:
Seaglass Tee - Not sure if I have enough yarn for it, but it’ll be a great stashbuster for my random skeins of fingering weight yarn.
Look at my Holes - I already have the yarn for this, leftover from a previous project.
Harvest cardigan - Just ordered yarn for this - I plan to do stripes
Fun patterns!! The holey one looks like it would be fun to layer.
There is a cardigan version of the Carbeth, too.
Gorgeous yarn, @Abbeeroad! I love that color.
One of the knitting podcasters I follow was just talking about the Seaglass patterns a few weeks ago - I’ve been eyeing it as a possible first foray into colorwork, if I ever work up the nerve.
I’m trying the MILLE cardigan again, since I messed it up so much on the first go-around (still my favorite cardigan to wear around the house). I’m using Patons Classic Wool in Merlot. I’m about two inches past the armpit and only had to frog it once…I made the same mistake I made the first time, lol.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you all make!
Right now I have a WIP knit shrug (Girls Want to Have Fun), but someday I want to knit a squishy cabled cardigan (maybe something like this?: 4105-145 Men’s Irish Cardigan).
I think it’d be fun to try making this crochet cardigan with knit button band / cuffs, but I’m not sure if I’d wear it: Ariana
& I’d love to try making a silly ‘ugly christmas sweater’ cardigan someday.
@tendstowardschaos - I remember that cardigan. I would have never known you “messed up” on it anywhere. It turned out so nice.
@jellybean - that shrug is so fun and looks perfect to just throw on when it’s chilly. I hope you’ll share your progress! I like your “someday” ideas, too.
I have 16.5 rows done right now because I keep working on other projects, lol. I hope to finish it this year.
@tendstowardschaos the Mille looks beautiful! That’d definitely be something great to cozy up with.
@jellybean GWtHF looks like a really enjoyable thing to knit up, I’m tempted to add that to my list haha. I also have thought in passing about making an ugly chrismas sweater, but I feel like I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify all the effort. Maybe a funny cowl or something.
Can I sneak in with a cardigan? I’m making Slängkoftan (the ”throw it on” cardigan)
I’m working in the round and will steek the front. It’ll be my first adult sized cardigan/sweater. About time I made one!
@Annchen Absolutely. I have a cardigan on my to-make list too.
I was so excited to pull out some yarn last night, to get set up to start, but was so exhausted after work, I just crashed on the couch, asleep by 8. I’ve got other stuff to do today but hopefully tonight I can play with yarn a little.
Oh boy! I just picked up a pair of knitting needles for the first time in my adult life sometime last month. My daughter got braces and she has decided she has to dress up as Mabel from Gravity Falls on Purim. Mabel always wears knitted sweaters, that she knits herself.
So, to keep up my awesome mom status, I’m learning how to knit and have just a bit of time to work my way up to a proper sweater. I hope I’ll be able to share my progress in this craftalong
I am in.
I will need to order yarn though, I don’t have enough in my stash.
I have been wanting to do both the Rosery Jumper and Urban Romance before winter starts in Australia.
Ooo! Gorgeous knits!
I knew they were going to have you doing that - but will it stick? lol.
I had a false start yesterday on my Seaglass tee. I changed my mind on doing a fully scrappy top, and plan to dye some of my scraps black, so it’ll be a black base, with pops of color. Now to get everything into hanks so I can dye it.
Oooooo!!
Ah! Exciting!
